Although we haven't had any snow days just yet, I'm still hopeful we will get a few bonus days with the kids this winter :) Callie is becoming such a little girl and has been fully potty trained for about a month now. It was much easier than I had ever expected ... a pleasant surprise! She talks about going to preschool (Dan and I are not ready for this just yet) and loves to sing songs of all sorts. Daniel is getting over RSV (scary!) but he's doing much better and continues breathing treatments every 4 hours. All in all, we are doing well and hope everyone near and dear to us is healthy as well!

We are having so much fun with the kids! Daniel is sitting up, rolling over, and eating like a champ! He is developing his own little personality complete with grunts and giggles! Callie continues to love on her brother (sometimes too much) and is the best helper a mother could have! She will do it all ... empty the diaper genie, unload the dishwasher, help cook dinner, etc... Callie loves cooking, baking, and playing with her dolls. Her vocabulary amazes us and makes us laugh day in and day out! Although she continues to give us a run for our money, Dan and I can't help but snicker at that spunky personality!

A Blessed Christmas

We had an enjoyable Christmas this year and feel incredibly blessed! Both children were healthy which we are first and foremost thankful for. Because of that, there was lots of time spent with family, which we cherished too. As always, the kids were completely spoiled and have plenty of toys to keep them busy throughout the upcoming year! Santa was good to them also. It was such a joy for Dan and I to watch Callie as she tried to figure out the whole Santa thing and her reaction when she realized Christmas morning that he did, in fact, eat her cookies and milk! We made it to several family gatherings so thank you to all who hosted, prepared, and cooked such yummy food! Now it’s time to nestle in and enjoy the precious family time these last few days!

This month has flown by! Callie and Daniel are growing so quickly and keep us entertained day and night! Callie is talking up a storm, thinks she is the boss, while at the same time is the sweetest little thing we've met! She adores her baby dolls and hopes that Santa is bringing her one :) She still enjoys running errands (her favorite is the grocery store) and being on the go! She is such a fantastic big sister and it's so fun to sit back and just watch her "mother" Daniel. Speaking of Daniel, he is following his big sister as he also tops the charts at the doctors office. He has rolled over a few times but is usually pretty content watching what's going on around him, which is usually quite a bit! He adjusted nicely to going to the sitters house but I must admit our mornings are pretty hectic, no matter how much preparing I do the night before. Dan and I are both looking forward to these 12 days at home with the kids and hope to relax and enjoy the holidays! Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

Where has the time gone! Daniel is already 5 months old! He's as patient as they come if you ask me! Lately, he's been grabbing at his toes trying to suck them, "talking," and showing a little interest in rolling over. Usually, he's pretty content watching Callie and doesn't seem to be in much of a hurry to do anything. His smile in the morning absolutely makes our day! What a delight our little boy is!

It's hard to believe our little guy is already 4 months old! He's such a joy to be around and brings smiles to everyone in our home! He giggles at his silly sister, falls asleep just about anywhere, and savors his Mommy and Daddy time once Callie has gone down to bed. Daniel is sleeping like a champ, which will help with the transition back to work tremendously! Callie enjoys reading him books, singing him songs, and making sure any and all of his needs are taken care of. He is her real life "baby doll!" We are so blessed!!!!!

Falling in Love with Fall

We have truly enjoyed the fall weather and all of the fun happenings in the area! We've been able to visit a pumpkin farm, attend MacQueens Apple Butter festival, watch AW football games, play outside, and trick-or-treat at the mall nearby! In two short weeks I return to work so I'm soaking up every second with my little darlings. I am incredibly thankful to be able to have enjoyed this precious time with them, especially since they are only little once!

3 months

Daniel is already 3 months old! He is a patient and laid back little guy so far which has been fabulous! Dan and I love watching him smile at Callie and coo up a storm. He was sleeping through the night for about a week and a half but that all changed when he got his first cold. Callie is incredibly helpful with him and loves to give him kisses and hugs throughout the day (sometimes more than he would probably hope for)! I return to work on Halloween so I'm soaking up my precious time with the kiddos during the month of October!

Fleitz Pumpkin Farm

On Sunday, we took a trip to Fleitz Pumpkin Farm in Oregon, Ohio. It was a darling little farm and incredibly kid friendly! The kids had their first hay ride, fed animals, played in straw, picked pumpkins, and enjoyed homemade donuts and cider. We topped off the trip with a little birthday celebration for Dan back at our house. I love fall weekends!!

My family rented a cottage on Lake Lavine for Labor Day weekend. It was a laid back and enjoyable weekend. We all enjoyed the boat rides, swimming, bonfires, card playing, and delicious food so much that's we've decided to try and make it an annual event :)

The kids are doing great and I just LOVE being home with them right now! It's so nice to have laid back mornings where we stay in our pj's a little longer than usual, snuggle on the couch and read stories, visit the park almost daily, and make our own schedule. I'm soaking it all in because in 6 short weeks, I'm back to work. I feel so blessed to be able to stay home with them for as long as I have!

Daniel is 2 months old already! Wow, time is flying by so quickly! He is smiling up a storm and growing like a weed! At his check up he weighed 12 lbs 12 oz and is doing great! Callie is up to 30 pounds already ... I can't believe it! She is talking so much and we get a kick out of everything she says and how cute it sounds :) I have a little more than two months left with them and I am cherishing each and every day!!!

We had an Elmo birthday party for Callie following the baptism on Sunday! She loved helping me bake the cupcakes and was a bit shy with everyone singing "Happy Birthday" to her but enjoyed it nonetheless! Thank you to our families for coming to celebrate such a special day for both of our children! We can't thank you enough for loving them the way you do!!!

Daniel was baptized on Sunday at St. Pat's and it was perfect! Deacon Junga did a private baptism for us once again, which was wonderful. The best part was that ALL of our family was present to witness him joining the Catholic church community!

As always, we had a great time at Lake Dianne for the annual "Lindsay's at the Lake!" The kids enjoyed swimming in the lake and going down the slip n' slide! However, the best part was singing Happy Birthday to Jack! What a little fighter and miracle he is!

1 Month

It's hard to believe one month has passed since the arrival of our sweet Daniel! He's becoming more and more alert. Daniel loves to be held, rocked, and cuddled. We've had a few nights where he has slept 4 to 4 1/2 hours straight and it feels great the next morning! Callie loves to help with burping, diaper changes (she's in charge of the powder), and putting the paci in when he cries. It's been a riot to watch her nurse her baby dolls and pump bottles for them as well :) Enjoy the following pictures and stay tuned for more next month!

Life with Two!

Life with two has been wonderful ... and busy! It has been a blessing to have Dan home for 6 weeks! He has become Callie's little playmate while I'm busy nursing and changing diapers :) She has adjusted quite well to her new brother and seems to be enjoying summer! We have spent a lot of time in the backyard pool, swinging on the new swing set, and playing in the water table. Callie is a wonderful little helper and Daniel has been a great baby so far. Even though his days and nights seem to be mixed up, it's not all that bad.

We are so lucky to have two healthy and beautiful children!

Welcome Daniel Robert Kalo

What a miracle we have been blessed with! We ended up heading to the hospital the night before due to lack of fetal movement. Everything checked out fine and we were sent back home because they didn't have any rooms available! We left our bags at the hospital, headed home for a few hours of sleep (or lack thereof), and returned to the hospital at 6:00 am.

The c-section was a bit nerve racking but all in all, a success! The cord was wrapped around his neck twice, which explains the lack of movement I was experiencing, but, luckily we had a great team of doctors on hand and he is a healthy little guy!

Daniel Robert Kalo was born at 8:37 am weighing in at 7 pounds 12 ounces and 21 inches in length. He looked alot like Callie when he first arrived but is slowly taking on his own unique characteristics. As you can see, he had a full head of dark black hair and melted our hearts instantly. I have loved every second of my time with him at the hospital before we head home.

Callie has been spoiled by family caring for her and hasn't missed Mommy quite like I'm missing her! Having Kalo's in town, along with my family and sister in town, has been a blessing as they've kept Callie occupied and the center of attention :)

When Callie first met Daniel, she loved him! She gave him kisses and called him "mine." I am so proud of her as a big sister but worried she won't know what hit her once we bring him home for good.

I appreciate all of the prayers and thoughts during this special time for our family. It's an amazing feeling and we are thankful for our beautiful and growing family. Enjoy the pictures!

After an incredibly and rainy spring, we were finally able to assemble the swing set we had bought for Callie back in the beginning of May. Thankfully, Davey, Tracy, and our neighbor Todd, all came to help out since I'm "out of order" at the moment (not that I would've been all that helpful anyhow)! Callie even made herself useful as you can see in the pictures below. Needless to say, it's assembled and enjoyed each and every day!

We had a great Easter! Callie loved her Easter egg hunt we had in the morning and then we were off to church. It was nice to spend the day with family and enjoy a wonderful meal as well as play outside and get some fresh air!

It's hard to believe how BIG Callie is becoming. She is Miss Independent and we feel like she's one going on five! She insists on attempting to dress herself and always wants to use our forks and spoons and drink out of Dan's workout water bottles. We are anxious to meet the new little guy (still nameless) in 8 short weeks! We have ordered his nursery furniture and bought Callie a swingset to keep her active and busy this summer!

A student in my class invited Callie and I out to her barn to see newly birthed lambs. She wasn't so sure of them at first but in the end, she didn't want to leave :)

This month we took our first trip to the Dentist! While we were thinking it would be a disaster, it didn't turn out all that bad. Callie went along with them brushing her teeth but hated the flossing and flouride treatment. The dentist office was incredibly kid-friendly so that was helpful!

Cabin Fever

Callie officially has cabin fever! She wakes up, grabs her coat and shoes, and says "Bye, bye!" Poor thing! We took her to Chuckie Cheese for the first time during our last snow day to release some energy. She liked watching Dan and I play Skee Ball but wasn't fond of all the toddler rides just yet or the dancing characters on stage. We are anxious for some warmer weather to arrive so we can play in the yard and go for ice cream :)

Well, heading into the appointment last week we had decided that we were going to hold off on finding out the sex of baby #2. We almost made it through the entire ultrasound but in the last few minutes we decided to go for it! Needless to say, we found out our newest little blessing is baby BOY!

We had a fantastic Thanksgiving at the Lindsay household today, as always! Mom cooked up more than enough food so that everyone could have leftovers. Callie was her normal, entertaining self and kept us all on our toes. She also enjoyed having tea parties with everyone who entered her bedroom at grandpa and grandma's house :) My mom and sisters put her hair in a "fo-fo" and she thought it was hilarious once she saw it in the mirror! Enjoy!

Apple Pickin' at MacQueens

We went to MacQueen's Apple Orchard to pick a bushel of apples! The weather was gorgeous (sunny and 75 degrees) so it made for the perfect afternoon! Callie loved running around and picking apples off of the ground and putting them in the bag. Afterward, we stopped by a pumpkin patch to let her pick out a pumpkin ... she wanted to lift each one of them! All in all, it was a great fall afternoon!

She stuffed her mouth full of apples but never swallowed them! Rather, she spit them into my hand once they were all chewed up and soggy :)

Callie is growing into a little girl so quickly! She has more energy than I thought possible! She is climbing on and into everything. She loves playing outdoors at home and at the sitters. Her latest fascination is with balloons and balls ... she gets so excited everytime she sees one and constantly says "ba" until she can hold them! I will post more pics tomorrow from our apple picking adventure we will take this afternoon :)

We had a small party to celebrate Callie's birthday last weekend! Thank you to all for celebrating with her! She loves all of her new toys, clothes, books, etc... They should keep her busy this winter :)

Cupcake themed party

There is a story behind this one! I was making cupcakes about 2 hours before the party. I turned to get something out of the fridge and Callie comes into the kitchen, pulls on the cord to the mixer (that was sitting in a glass mixing bowl) and yanks it! It came smashing down to the floor splattering cupcake batter all over kitchen :) So, I called the beloved Cake in a Cup and they were able to add regular cupcakes to my order of minis. Tara was a huge help running all over town scrambling to get things here by the time the party started ... thanks sis!

Busy Summer!

Callie is a walking machine and has improved her balance quite remarkably in 6 short weeks! She has been on the go with us throughout the summer months that we have off and seems to have enjoyed it all! She is still babbling and is constantly making some type of noise at all times...if not, it means she's into something! Callie has been quite the little explorer around the house and continues to make us smile with her animated facial expressions! I hate to think about returning to work and leaving her with a sitter but I'm going to enjoy the last few weeks to the fullest!

She now knows that these peel off ... uh oh!

We took a trip to Sandusky to visit family while Natalie was in town. Aunt Annie and Great Grandma Westcott couldn't believe how much she has grown!

We stopped for lunch in Sandusky with Auntie Marcia and Stefanie too!

Florida Trip

Callie was a trooper on the flight to Florida and did better than we had expected! She earned her first "wings" from the pilot. She loved her time in Florida and especially loved the water. She thought it was pretty hot but enjoyed riding on the boat and swimming in the pool. She loved spending time with her grandparents and they sure loved getting to see her too :)

10 Months!

Callie is developing quite the personality! She is babbling "baba" and "mama" all day long, although I don't believe she knows "mama" is me just yet :) She continues to walk all over and from place to place. We enjoyed a beautiful weekend away with friends this past weekend at Put-In-Bay while Callie stayed with Grandpa and Grandma Lindsay. Callie also was able to visit with some friends in Napoleon this past month as well. We are heading to Florida this week via plane so that should be interesting. Once we have landed, I think Dan and I can both relax! Stay tuned for pictures from Florida in the next couple weeks!

Callie continues to surprise us each and every day! To say that she is active is an understatement! She loves to play peek-a-boo and she enjoys clearing off all end tables. She has become very interested in some of her toys and loves to play. It's awesome getting to watch her discover new textures, toys, and simply explore around the house. At her latest appointment she weighed in at 21 lbs. and is in the 100th percentile for her height! Definitely not a trait she got from the Lindsay side! I'm very grateful that my job allows me to spend the summer with her!

8 Months!

Callie is getting so big! This past month she mastered the art of not only crawling but also managing to pull herself up on EVERYTHING! She loves newspapers, magazines, and anything that she can crinkle. Our end tables are wiped clean of all items within ten minutes of Callie being awake! She enjoys feeding herself Gerber puffs and seems to think she is such a big girl. She continues to develop a personality and keep us on our toes. She is the absolute joy of our lives and we are so blessed to have such a darling little daughter! Enjoy the photos!

7 Months!

Callie is an absolute joy to be around! We've really enjoyed bumming around the house with her over spring break this past week! She has developed a "fake" laugh that she does constantly and has been acquiring quite the little personality. Callie has her two bottom teeth and it looks as if more will be popping through shortly. She does the army crawl all around the house and loves to be a part of the action. With the warmer weather, we have taken her on walks and she continues to giggle the whole time --- so much fun! It's hard to believe that Callie is 6 months already! Wow, time has flown! She is sitting up and becoming more and more steady doing so each day. She reaches for EVERYTHING and then has to taste it. I see two little teeth ready to pop through so that should be fun ... haha! Callie is a big ball of energy who will be hard to keep up with once she's on the move crawling. We took our first "road trip" to Columbus to visit friends and she did great (slept the whole way)! Enjoy the photos!

Callie is growing so quickly! At her last check up she managed to still top the charts in the 95th percentile! She is rolling over as well as reaching for any and everything. Callie's 1st Christmas was wonderful! She was able to visit with ALL of her family and that was such a blessing! She was spoiled and enjoyed herself as you can see from her smile in many of the pictures. Although her routine was out the door, she was a trooper and attended each and every holiday party! We had many visitors to the home and she was soaking up all the attention she could get :) Lori, her babysitter, could definitely tell the little princess was held most of break! Callie is growing like a weed! She is rolling over and experimenting with her new found voice in different pitches. Dan and I just laugh at her :) We love waking her up in the mornings and watching her stretch as she wakes and doesn't want to get out of her warm crib. I can't blame her! We are looking forward to her first Christmas and spending it with both families as Kalo's are traveling to Ohio this year. Stay tuned for holiday photos in the coming weeks!

3 Months!

Callie is now 3 months old! She loves to be a part of the action and always know what's going on. She is grabbing onto our clothes and her blankets as she is learning about her hands. Her smiles light up our days and she enjoys "talking!" This week I washed up her 6 month clothes since she has officially outgrown the 3 month ones! She spent a weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Lindsay while we went away to Chicago and did wonderful! In addition, I returned to work last week and believe it or not, we all survived! Although I hate to leave her, Callie seems to enjoy the sitter. We hope you enjoy the pictures!

At her 2 month check up she weighed in at 12 lbs 4 oz (90th percentile) and received 4 shots as well. What an experience! She's doing well overall, continues to eat like a champ, and loves attention! Callie sleeps from midnight until about 5 am each night, eats, and then falls back asleep. We are making progress! Hopefully in the next couple weeks we can establish some type of a routine before I head back to work...wish us luck!

Callie is growing so quickly! She has discovered the little mobile above her swing and enjoys looking at the leaves going around. She makes great eye contact with us and smiles up a storm during the day. She's already in 3 month clothes and was in the 75th percentile at our last appointment! We are making progress with nighttime...she will now sleep 4 straight hours which is wonderful! Stay tuned for more pics...
