So Long Pajama Days!

Wow, what a fun run of setting a record in this household for the most days spent in pajamas!  My last post was titled, Snowed in and Loving It!”  Hmmm, the loving it part, well, that lasted only a few days!  We were chomping at the bit to GET OUT AND DO SOMETHING!  The bitter cold temps and level 3 prevented us from leaving the house.  I think Dan only worked 8 days in January and our area set records for the most days of a -10 or below temp along with most recorded snowfall in the month of January!  Yikes!  We had to dig in and get creative to pass the days with three little ones stuck inside.

Our neighbor, Jillian, playing with us in the basement!
We brought snow into the bath tub for some sensory play!
 Marshmallow snowman craft!
We decided to put plastic over our fireplace because of the strong draft of bone chilling air that was blowing in.  Look at the frost build up ... crazy!!
While building a fort, our ceramic fruit bowl fell off of the counter and cracked open Daniel's poor little head!  His Papa came to visit him in ER and gave him a few little St. Luke's gifts!
Our neighbors had us over one evening and the kids enjoyed popcorn and a movie ... so fun!!
Papa Lindsay giving his infamous piggy back ride to Luke :)
 Natalie's Bridal Shower in Sandusky!
 Imagination Station water play!
Is it wrong that all I think about when the kids put on costumes in public places is I hope they don't get lice?!?
 Toledo Walleye Hockey Game!
The snow wall at our subdivision entrance!

 Check out this crazy drift!!

For a couple years now, I've wanted to take the kids exploring at the Downtown Toledo library.  Because it's not in the safest part of Toledo, I've had to wait for a day where Dan could go along.  After hearing wonderful things about the children's library, I couldn't wait to take the kids!  Dan, Nonnie Kalo, and I took the kids one morning and it was super duper fun!  There was so much to see, do, and READ of course :)

We've always bought the boxed valentine's that are at Target and local stores, however, we decided to be a bit more crafty since we had plenty of extra time on our hands :)  Callie decided to go with a Minion from the movie Despicable Me!

Playing out in the snow with the Shay family!

We made ice cream out of snow from outside ... so fun and yummy too!!
 Movie time!
A friend of mine and her daughters class sent our family this paper person named Flat Stanley.  I have always done the Flat Stanley project with my class as well so it was fun to be on the other end!  We included Flat Stanley on all of our snow day adventures and made an album to send back to her school!
